Be the LIGHT that shakes evil!

Updated: Feb 1, 2023

As I began to prepare for the IFA weekly prayer meeting for West Virginia, I bowed my head and ask God the direction He wants for the meeting. Almost immediately I hear in my spirit, “Shaking off evil”. At first, I thought of us, the prayer warriors, needing to shake of any evil attachments in our lives in order to better communicate with the Father our thoughts, our intercessory prayers. But when I began to search the scriptures for these words, I found something very special. A nugget of truth buried in the book of Job.

I recently took my Bible study class through the book of Job. This book is not an easy one to study. There is much conversation in this book of Job. Job to God, Job to his friends that show up to offer support, if you can call their words support. Then each of his friends had lengthy words to say about Job and how his life must be full of sin to receive such punishment. But then after all this discussion of who is at fault for Job’s trials and tribulation God speaks, God replies to Job’s despair and questioning. In chapter 38 verse 2 God begins with “Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! God is questioning Job with forceful determination to prove His Omnipotence. But it’s when I come to verses 12 and 13 that really took me for a loop.

“Have you commanded the morning since your days began, and caused the dawn to know its place, that it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and the wicked be shaken out of it?” The light from the dawn came so quickly that the wicked, the evil was shaken because of its hold on the earth. This thought must be further explored.

We know evil hides in the darkness. Evil and wickedness is conceived in the dark places in the hearts of man. But when God’s light shines like the morning sun there is no place for the darkness to hide. The wickedness is shaken out of it!! Praise God for His might word. Praise God for His light that He places in the heart of those who love Him. I am praying that the light would shine so brightly that the wickedness would lose its place. They will stumble and fall over their own ways as they are now blinded by the bright light of the Glory of God in His people. As Jesus stated, “And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them.” John 17:10 He is glorified through us, through the light that shines in our lives.

May our light be as the morning light God describes in Job. A light that shakes the wicked from their place, a light that shines into the darkest of dungeons. “You are the light of the world.” As HIS reflective light into a dark evil world, how do we brighten our lights? Stay deep in the Word of God, stay in continual prayer and abide, abide, abide in HIM.

I believe this word God gave me, “Shaking off evil” is for every believer. The closer we draw unto the Father the more reflective our lights will shine His Glory, His LOVE. It only takes a little light to break the darkness, then that which is hidden is revealed. Praise God for His Glory, Praise God for His Light.

“That you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.”

This little light of mine I'm going to let it shine.

This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine, let it shine, let it SHINE!
